Dolls made by Ideal
Ideal was founded in 1907 by Morris Michtom, who had invented the Teddy Bear in 1903.
Ideal produced many innovative dolls such as Shirley Temple (based on the popular child star), Saucy Walker (walking doll), Patti Play Pal (child sized doll) and Betsy Wetsy (drink and wet doll).
Ideal also had wide success with it's Toni, Miss Revlon and Thumbelina dolls, and was one of the top doll makers of the 1950's and 1960's.
Dolls were made under the Ideal name until 1997 when the company became part of Mattel. Some toys that were created by Ideal are still made under the Mattel name.
