This is a Raving Beauty Doll. She was made by the Artisan Novelty Co. in the early 1950's, unmarked. She stands 20" high, and is all jointed hard plastic.
Her face is wonderful with bright coloring and original paint. She has big amber sleep eyes, intact lashes, eyeshadow, an open mouth w/ tongue & four teeth, and rosy cheeks. Her brows may be slightly enhanced.
The doll wears her original golden-blonde nylon wig. It is gorgeous, full, thick, and shiny, worn in curls around her shoulders.
Raving Beauty lives up to her name in her gorgeous formal gown. I'm not sure if it's original, but it appears to be factory-made and fits her perfectly. The gown is turquoise taffeta covered with matching net. It has rhinestones on the bodice, sequins on the skirt, and little net cap sleeves. There are also built-in falsies. She also wears a girdle and white vinyl Fairyland shoes. Around her shoulders is a real fur cape, probably home made for her.
