From a doll collectors estate, here are two 1950's to 60's Cloth Japanese Dolls. Both are stuffed fabric over a wire armature body. They have oil painted features, big eyes, and lots of cute detail.
Shibaten Kappa Turtle Doll (6 1/2") This is a legendary Japanese water spirit appearing as a humanoid turtle. The doll has individually stitched fingers, a shell on his back, and wears a knit cap, scarf & ice skates.
India Jungle Boy (8") He wears a turban & carries a basket of fruit. Attached to a wooden stand.
