This doll is an early Howdy Doody character. She is Indian Princess Winterspring-Summerfall. This character was mostly made as a marionette or as an 8" dress-me type doll. Very few of these larger hard plastic dolls are found. She is 14 1/2" high, all jointed strung hard plastic. Marked Made in USA. Made by the Beehler Arts Co. in 1950-51.
She has blue sleep eyes with distinctive curved eyebrows & extra lashes at the corner or her eyes. These were hand painted by the company to create a likeness of this character.
Her wig is long, black & shiny, still in the original braids with gold ties. The doll wears her original white satin princess gown with embroidered net over-skirt. Plus pale blue organdy ruffled pantlets & white satin shoes with blue ribbon ties.
